Thanks to Bodybuilding Warehouse I have been able to try out the ON 100% Whey in double rich chocolate flavour. Now as far as whey proteins go I really am not that fussy as I believe a lot of the differences between products in the same sort of price ranges are very minimal with slight variations in blends between isolate/concentrate %’s and also flavouring. They all seem to have minimal carbs this product has 3g per serving whilst the 24g of protein per serving really makes the impact of the carbs minimal for those that are on the seemingly popular ketogenic diet and wanting to stay in a state of ketosis throughout. One thing that I do like about the ON whey is the fact it does actually include some good fast acting whey peptides making this a nice product to kick start recovery after an hard workout. People always say that it is a real expensive product to purchase in the large bag but if you workout around £80 is the average price I’ve seen it contains 155 servings, that really isn’t that much per serving of 30g whey protein around 55 pence per serving much cheaper than things such as chicken breasts, easy to digest, convenient and a bit tastier too with the chocolate flavour.

As far as mixability I have tried mixing both with little water (200ml), a lot of water (500ml+) and both soy and skimmed milk, and there was no evidence of clumping and clogging up the shaker grills that some products seem to produce and everything mixed together well with a few shakes, even when left a little there wasn’t that separation with the powder and grit type formula forming at the bottom of the shaker requiring another shake this seems to be found in some of the lower quality proteins.

The flavouring was amazing, double rich chocolate sounds like a great flavour and sets the mark very high with expectation and even when putting loads of water in the shaker the flavour was still nice and strong, not too sweet either which is good, also noticed that it seems a great addition to oats in the mornings if you fancy a switch from the standard sort of egg whites that a lot seem to have.
Overall I am a massive fan of this product and am hoping to be able to try the other flavours over the next couple of months in order to provide some feedback but for now I am hooked on the double rich chocolate flavour I have recommended this to many personal training clients in the past couple weeks and some have already opened their wallets to purchase it and love it just as much.
